Goldmann Visual Field Testing and Hands on Workshop
This course will describe and discuss the visual pathways, the methods used to illicit a patients visual field using the Goldmann perimeter. Describe the techniques used i.e., multiple targets, static, kinetic, isopters, low vision patients and disabled, error factors i.e., distance/size, refractive errors, calibration and lighting, fixation, and describe etiology and show common visual field defects. The workshop will allow all participants an opportunity to calibrate the Goldmann perimeter and perform multiple isopters and the blind spot on each other.
Upon completion of this course, the participant should be able to:
1. List the visual pathways.
2. Describe the various methods in obtaining the visual field.
3. Describe the techniques.
4. List the Error Factors.
5. Explain and perform the calibration steps on the Goldmann perimeter.
6. Describe common defects and their etiology.
7. Perform multiple isopters and plot the blind spot on course
