Retinoscopy

The first three (3) hours is an introduction to basic optics, defining the conoid of sturm, spherical power, axis and power of cylinders, myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism, and then applying this information to retinoscopy. The AAO video on Retinoscopy will be shown as part of this presentation.
The last four (4) hours will allow the participants an opportunity to perform retinoscopy in plus or minus cylinder with the guidance of an instructor.

Upon completion of this course, the participant should be able to:
1. Describe the basic principles of optics.
2. Describe and perform retinoscopy in plus or minus cylinder form.
