Basic Ophthalmic Skills

This course in an introduction to assisting the doctor with the eye examination. Ocular dressing and shields indications and proper use will be discussed. Drug delivery methods and advantages and disadvantages of each will be described. Assisting patients with instructions for dry eyes, Blepharitis treatments, how to instill medications, etc.

    Upon completion of this course, the participant should be able to:
1. Describe indications and proper use of ocular dressings and shields.
2. List the various drug delivery systems.
3. Give instruction to patients that are being treated for Dry Eyes and Blepharitis.
